Why Gen47?

Chapter 47 in the book of Genesis is a cautionary tale about how preparedness and good work allowed Joseph's family to live out the famine in safety, while over time the Egyptians sold away everything they owned to the government for bread, and eventually when they had nothing left they sold themselves into slavery to Pharaoh. The pharaoh then placed the Egyptians into cities, gave them jobs, and made them pay taxes.

How This Inspires Us

We want our hard work to give us the ability to make a place of safety from the storm. We don't want situations outside of someone's control to force them into financial hardship that equates to modern-day slavery.

Real Life Inspiration

We have personally taken in family members that became homeless, due to not anticipating taxes. Their property was seized and they were forced into bankruptcy. They did not ask for help until it was too late. Their credit was ruined and it took 2.5 years to get back on their feet.

Help is available to you, but it doesn't mean that it won't come without sacrifices.
